“It’s helping others and given me something to do during the week. This program helps lots of people and I like being a part of that.”
“When I joined LinC I was living by myself and had no one talk to during the day. I was looking for something to do during the day so I could socialise with different people. Driving was the ideal way because I enjoy it and it gives me a chance to connect with members of the community that I wouldn’t normally associate with.”
“By supplying fresh veggies to people who can’t afford them. I like to see the smile on people’s faces when they come in and see the food. I just enjoy doing it.”
“I enjoy it and it keeps me busy. I meet some beautiful people and work with a very supportive team. I work in the office and I enjoy that a great deal.”
“I think it has helped a lot. I’ve seen families come here since day one and they are still coming. We’ve seen some go and then not come back because we make them feel welcome and quality of the food is good. People from other programs say, “It’s so pushy, I’m not going back there again. I like coming here. This is the better one”.
“Unfortunately it’s become accepted in our society today for people go to bed hungry or go to school without food in their stomachs. It’s something that drives me consciously to make a difference, play a part and at LinC I get to do that.”
“We started off as customers here. It was a massive help to the fortnightly budget. Luckily we were asked to be volunteers and one of the benefits is being able to socialise with others that come here.”
