What Our Volunteers Do

Each week, our volunteers assist hundreds of individuals and families by providing:

  • Free fresh food and pantry items

  • Meal support and food parcels

  • Petrol vouchers and help with essential bills

  • Practical support for isolated or vulnerable people

From a warm smile and a box of groceries to a phone call that breaks through loneliness – every act of service matters.

Our Purpose

To provide practical services to people experiencing hardship – due to age, disability, homelessness, family crisis, or financial stress – and to do so with dignity, compassion, and hope. As a volunteer, you’ll be supported, trained, and equipped to make a real difference. You’ll become part of a wider movement of local churches and individuals working together in faith to bring light into difficult circumstances.

Volunteering with LinC Yarra Valley gives you the opportunity to:

  • Relieve real human suffering in practical, tangible ways

  • Support vulnerable and isolated people in your own community

  • Grow spiritually and personally as you serve others

  • Be part of a community of like-minded people from local churches

  • Live out your faith through action and service

A Network of Hope

Founded in 1992 and affiliated with the LinC Church Services Network National Inc., LinC Yarra Valley is a registered charity and part of a broader movement of Christian service inspired by international programs in the U.S., Canada, and New Zealand. Our work is encouraged by World Vision Australia, as we share a common commitment to empowering Christians to express practical compassion and love in the name of Jesus Christ.

Volunteering at LinC Yarra Valley is about joining a network of compassionate people responding to real and urgent needs in our local community. Guided by the Christian tradition of serving others with love and dignity, our volunteers play a vital role in relieving poverty, distress, and isolation in the Yarra Valley and Mooroolbark region. Being part of LinC Yarra Valley means being part of an Empowered Faith Community (EFC) focused on an empowered and ownership model.

The EFC Model

Many of our team are trained as part of the Empowered Faith Community (EFC) Model.  We believe being part of a caring, like-minded community is essential for human flourishing. We support those with significant life challenges to understand that they have strengths.

Whether it’s delivering food to a family, supporting someone facing a challenging time in their life, or simply being a listening ear for someone who feels forgotten, LinC volunteers provide support and empowerment for those doing it tough.

Who Can Volunteer?

We welcome volunteers from our member churches and the broader community who share our heart for service. If you’re motivated by faith, compassion, or a desire to serve others, there is a place for you here.

If you have a willing heart and a little time, we’ll guide you, support you, and help you find the best way to contribute.
