Farewell and thank You Marylin Leermakers, LinC’s Founder

Victoria says good-bye to Marylin Leermakers who is moving to Queensland for a new adventure with her family. Thank you for your vision, passion and commitment for over 30 years. We will miss you!

LinC Yarra Valley and National Life-time member

Based on the ‘Love Inc’ model from the USA, Marylin founded LinC in Australia 1992. Hornsby (NSW) was the first Affiliate and then Eltham (Vic) followed by the Yarra Valley (Vic). Marylin is also the founder of Kids Hope Australia.

LinC Yarra Valley began with 80 people from Valley Christian Fellowship and today stretches from Warburton to Mooroolbark and Healesville.The LinC model gives churches in close geographical proximity to each other a way to work together and ‘share the load’ of supporting vulnerable people in practical ways. The clearinghouse model allows community members to telephone their LinC Referral Centre with a request for help and a referral is made to the local church volunteer, LinC or LinC supported church program to meet the need.
